Mobile Messaging Terms and Conditions

Last updated: September 21, 2026

Our text messaging program

By opting in, you agree to receive recurring text messages from Social Security Emergency Response at the mobile number you provide. Messages may include Social Security advocacy updates, political and election information, event invitations, volunteer opportunities, and fundraising appeals. Messages may be sent using automated technology.

Enrollment and consent

You can enroll using the SMS consent option on our website signup form. Provide a mobile number that you own or are authorized to use, and select the SMS checkbox. Providing a number without selecting that checkbox does not enroll you. Text messaging is optional. You can donate or take part in our activities without subscribing, and consent is not a condition of making a purchase.

Frequency and charges

Message frequency varies with our activities and your interactions with us. Message and data rates may apply under your wireless plan. We do not charge a separate subscription fee. Contact your wireless provider with questions about your plan or charges.

How to stop messages

Reply STOP or UNSUBSCRIBE to any program message to opt out. After an opt-out, we may send one confirmation message, and no further program messages will be sent unless you opt in again. You may also email protectsocialsecurity@gmail.com to request an opt-out and identify the mobile number concerned.

How to get help

Reply HELP to a program message or email protectsocialsecurity@gmail.com. If you change or give up your mobile number, please opt out or notify us so that we can update our records.

Delivery and changes to the program

Delivery depends on wireless coverage, your device, and your carrier. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. We may modify or end the program. Changes will not authorize messages beyond the scope of your consent; we will seek additional consent where required.
